Online Learning Survey Distance Learning Presentation
Would you like to know if online learning is for you?
Online learning is an attractive option for many students. Successful online learning skills can be learned by motivated students who value independence and interactivity. Take the self-assessment to find out if online learning is right for you.
1. Your time availability and commitment each week:
If you have a compelling need and interest in the online course, you are more likely to carve out the time needed to complete the course requirements. The typical online student reports that more time is required to complete an online course than a face-to-face course. The reason for this is the additional time needed for participating in discussion forums, responding to questions online, and doing assignments that require interaction with classmates and instructor. The successful online student plans to log-in to the course site several times per week.

2. Your ability to work independently:
A welcome characteristic of online learning is that students have greater freedom to schedule when and where they will learn. But with this freedom comes greater responsibility to keep up with assignments, meet deadlines for discussion forums, and perhaps meet synchronously in the online classroom. The successful online learner carefully organizes and plans ahead to meet course requirements.
