Romans
12:9-10
The
key word is “Love” and love is
defined something after this order. . .
But the application of love
is more important than the definition for the
application is what gives it meaning. It is
better shown or dramatized than merely defined
and/or discussed.
- Love
must be sincere (v. 9)
--it
is not manipulative
--it
is not pretended
--it
is not self seeking
I
Corinthians 13
- Love
is discerning to benevolent ends (v. 9)
--it
distinguishes causes and objects
--it
is guided by truth
I
John 3:11 ff
- Love
should be understood in reciprocal fashion
(v. 10)
--it
possesses a mutuality of expression
--it
demonstrates an orderly preferment
Philippians 3:1-4
Our relationship with one another
is the basis by which we carry out the will
of God in many other areas.
