Dr. Frank James Congratulates Matt Millen

Matt Millen

On January 11, 2014 Matt Millen, husband of Biblical board member Pat Millen and four-time Super Bowl winner, will be awarded the Walter Camp “Man of the Year.”

This prestigious award “honors an individual who has been closely associated with the game of football… attained a measure of success and been a leader in his chosen profession. He must have contributed to the public service… He must have an impeccable reputation for integrity and must be dedicated to our American Heritage and the philosophy of Walter Camp,” according to the Walter Camp Foundation.

Matt started his career as a linebacker at Penn State University and went on to have a successful 12-year career in the NFL. He then worked as an NFL analyst prior to providing leadership for the Detroit Lions and now broadcasts college football games for ESPN.

Matt and Pat Millen understand “to whom much is given, much is required.” In addition to being active members of Cornerstone Church in Easton, Matt and Pat are passionate about making a difference by investing their time, talent, and resources in organizations close to their hearts. Their focus is assisting those who bring help, hope, and healing to victims of trauma, globally and domestically. "She’s My Sister," an initiative of the American Bible Society (ABS), and the Global Trauma Recovery Institute, established by Biblical Seminary (in partnership with ABS), are two ministries that have become important in their lives. Trauma expert Dr. Diane Langberg, clinical professor at Biblical Seminary, describes trauma as “the mission field of our century.” The Millen’s daughter Marianne, currently a student at Biblical Seminary, has traveled to Rwanda to learn about the spiritual and emotional wounds caused by decades of brutal conflict throughout that region in Africa.
