Director and Professor of the Graduate School of Counseling

Biblical Seminary is seeking a Director and Professor of the Graduate School of Counseling. This individual will oversee the Master of Arts in Counseling (MAC) program as well as other certificate programs, teach counseling courses, supervise staff and faculty within the GSOC, and serve as a member of the BTS faculty. The Graduate School of Counseling houses our Master of Arts in Counseling (MAC) program, our Certificate in Christian Counseling (CCC), our Certificate in Advanced Professional Counseling (CAPC), and the Global Trauma Recovery Institute (GTRI). The MAC program is cohort-based and has both a two-year non-licensure track and a three-year licensure track. Our goal is to prepare Christian counselors for professional and non-professional ministry who love people in all their God-given diversity, who engage science and culture with wisdom and discernment, and who skillfully apply the grace and truth of the Gospel first to their own lives and then to their counselees.


  1. A PhD in psychology or counseling.
  2. Mental health licensure, practicing at least one day per week.
  3. 5+ years teaching experience in a higher educational setting.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and an ability to work well with others in a team setting.
  5. An ability to lead in developing a curriculum able to reach diverse populations.

  1. Oversee and manage all aspects of the GSOC; its staff, its various programs and functions, and its various curricular offerings.

  3. Work with the Dean to manage and oversee counseling faculty (including adjunct faculty).
  4. Intervene as necessary to address student issues and/or resolve concerns or needs.
  5. Chair the GSOC Committee.
  6. Supervise department assistants and assistant director(s).
  7. Ensure fulfillment of all NBCC CE status requirements and all accreditation requirements.
  8. Assist admissions in recruitment and tracking of prospective and current students.
  9. Member of the resident teaching faculty with a 4-5 course (12-15 credit) teaching load.

Knowlton Presbyterian Church, Columbia, NJ

Other responsibilities include preparing fee tickets prior to clinical visit, and notating all issues concerning insurance problems or missing documentation.

Community Health Worker - The Community Health Worker will be an integral member of the care management outreach team, focused on Esperanza Health Center patients recognized as high-risk and/or high-utilizer, who require multidisciplinary case management to improve patient outcomes and reduce emergency room utilization and hospitalizations. Together with the primary care practitioner and the Nurse Care Manager, the Community Health Worker will assist with care plan implementation and patient education during in-home visits, help develop care management strategies, and work with team members to provide linkages for the various health and social needs of patients. This is a full-time, temporary position approved through December 31st, 2018, with the possibility of continuance beyond that point.

Custodial Specialist - The Custodial Specialist is responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly state of the premises of Esperanza Health Center. Additional responsibilities include maintaining environmental services equipment and supplies, performing cleaning and custodial tasks, and participating in seasonal maintenance projects such as snow removal and landscaping. Evening and weekend availability is required. This position is 15 hrs/ week, from 6:30pm – 9:30pm, Monday – Friday.

Dispensary Manager - The Dispensary Manager is responsible to oversee all dispensing operations of Esperanza Health Center’s dispensary operations. Supervises dispensary staff, ensuring they are properly trained. Facilitates smooth and efficient operations. Occasionally works directly in dispensaries to cover staff absences. Reports to the Director of Operations.

Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Support Specialist - The EMR Support Specialist plays a key role in providing technical expertise and direct support and ongoing training for staff using Esperanza’s GE Centricity EMR. By working closely with the clinical staff for training and support, the EMR Support Specialist is actively involved in identifying and implementing enhancements and improvements to workflows and system features. Primary responsibilities include directing IT desk support, conducting EMR training sessions and follow-up, performance and process improvement, content development for workflow analysis, and maintaining EMR permissions and user lists.

Medical Assistant - The Medical Assistant will serve as a member of the Medical Assistant team providing support of the clinicians and in the provision of safe and whole person care to our patients. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for preparing adults and children for exams and assists adult practitioners and pediatricians. They will address the needs of walk-in and call-in patients; help make arrangements for needed follow up. The Medical Assistant may also perform phlebotomy, cover the dispensary role, tend to orderliness, cleanliness and stocking of exam rooms between patient visits; assist in organizing storage areas; and nurture the spiritual growth of team members and patients.

Patient Access Liaison (PAL) - The PAL will be a member of the Clerical team and reports directly to the Practice Administrator. The PAL will be responsible for working directly with qualified uninsured patients to help them enroll in the Health Insurance Marketplace and to educate them about their options under the Affordable Care Act in conjunction with the social services team. The PAL will serve as a knowledgeable resource for assisters on the social services team, will gather monthly assister statistics from all EHC assisters, and will submit a quarterly Affordable Care Act report to the Director of Social Services. In conjunction with the medical and dental teams, the PAL will work directly with all uninsured patients who are ineligible for insurance but wish to participate in the EHC Uninsured Patient Program. The PAL will meet personally with these patients to review and approve the required proof of income before assigning to a sliding fee or charity care level (including Ryan White patients). The PAL will assure compliance with all applicable HRSA regulations. The PAL will be responsible for the overall Quality Assurance of the EHC Uninsured Patient Program, The PAL will compile quarterly reports for the Practice Administrator and will conduct an internal compliance audit annually for the Director of Operations. The PAL will assist patients to identify affordable testing and specialty care options as needed. The PAL will be responsible for submitting all medical pre-certification requests for high-end imaging, in full compliance with insurance contracts and regulations. The PAL will submit relevant medical documentation as necessary to gain pre-certification approvals, and will schedule peer-to-peer reviews with clinicians (as requested) when pre-certifications are denied. The PAL will keep a spreadsheet of pre-certifications submitted, approved and denied. The PAL will be responsible for maintaining the specialist referral spreadsheet.

Social Services Manager - The Social Services Manager provides social services at designated Esperanza Health Center sites, addressing patient needs which predispose illness or interfere with benefit from medical care. This includes assisting the uninsured with Marketplace, Medicaid, and/or CHIP insurance applications, HIV testing and counseling in a comprehensive, interdisciplinary approach to client-centered care. Other responsibilities include serving as an advocate for patients, providing spiritual intervention for patients and sharing hope, building relationships with resource organizations, providing health insurance education and application assistance, managing case notes and properly documenting services provided, and tracking and following up on social services referrals.

Triage Nurse (RN) / Assistant Clinical Supervisor - The Triage Nurse / Assistant Clinical Supervisor provides triage nursing care to Esperanza patients and supervises clinical support staff at our 5th street clinic. Nursing responsibilities include: assessing needs of walk-in and call-in patients, patient health education, coordinating follow-up and referrals for complex patients, providing holistic spiritual care, and performing basic Medical Assistant duties as needed. Supervisory responsibilities include providing direct supervision to Medical Assistants at Esperanza’s 5th Street location, monitoring vaccine and clinical supply inventories, in-house lab compliance and quality controls. This position reports to and collaborates with the Director of Nursing to ensure that efficient, safe, and quality care is provided by the clinical support staff at the 5th street site.

First Korean United Methodist Church, Cherry Hill, NJ

First Presbyterian Church of Norristown, PA

(Posted 8/18/17) – First Presbyterian Church of Norristown is looking for visiting pianists (organists) to lead Sunday morning worship. Services start at 10:30am and last for approximately 55-75 minutes. Openings start October 8, ability to take multiple Sundays would be a blessing! Compensation is $100 per Sunday. The hymn and music selection are flexible: the visiting pianist can select hymns, work with the pastor on selection, or the hymns can be pre-selected.

Qualifications include a professed faith in Jesus Christ and confession of Him as Savior; proficiency in leading worship through hymns on the piano (organ is a plus).

Requirements include leading the singing of hymns and other songs through piano accompaniment; playing a prelude, postlude, and offertory (flexible on type of music); a short phone conversation with the pastor several days before the service; arriving at least half an hour before the start of the service.
