Doctor of Ministry (DMin) Program
The Doctor of Ministry (DMin) degree program prepares men and women for advanced missional leadership so that they can effectively engage postmodern culture. It is this focus on Missional Theology that differentiates our program. The DMin program is designed to teach leadership skills that will not only assist in relating to multiple cultures, but also allow current ministry leaders to learn and grow without having to leave their ministry context.
The program requires a Master of Divinity degree or its equivalent from an accredited seminary or graduate school, plus a minimum of three years of full-time ministry experience after completion of an MDiv or ThM degree.
WHY PURSUE A DOCTOR OF MINISTRY?
The DMin degree is a professional degree that advances ministry expertise and leadership. The equivalent of the Doctor of Ministry in other professions are, for example, the : 1) Doctor of Education (EdD), 2) Doctor of Jurisprudence (JD), and 3) Doctor of Psychology (PsyD). Pastors with the DMin degree have demonstrated the ability to reflect on advanced theological and biblical studies and apply them to the challenges of church leadership in their specific context. Earning an advanced professional degree such as the DMin means that the students have prepared themselves to accept new challenges and opportunities for the Kingdom and as the Spirit leads.
