"Why Biblical Seminary for Counselor Training?"
Our options include:
This 52-hour degree is delivered in a cohort class format that meets one night a week and one Saturday a month for two years. It includes a reduced schedule in the summer (see summer counseling institute) and two fall retreats.
Master of Arts in Ministry, counseling concentration
This 48-hour degree is delivered in a traditional class format with an emphasis in practical theology and counseling. See details under "degree" learning opportunities.
Converting credits from the Christian Counseling and Education Foundation (CCEF)
This option makes it possible for CCEF students to convert their completed course credits into accredited Biblical credits. These can be applied to a Biblical degree or transferred elsewhere (check with the institution before proceeding).
Certificate in Biblical Counseling
An excellent means of developing basic counseling competencies at the graduate level. This certificate benefits pastors, church leaders, and many others interested in counseling others from a biblical perspective. Courses taken in the certificate are eligible to be transferred into the master of arts in counseling degree.
Certificate in Advanced Professional Counseling
This certificate allows students with a master's degree in counseling to acquire advanced counseling training. Many students who complete the CAPC are interested in licensure.
The institute is open to current students needing to complete their elective credits, alumni, and those desiring additional training at the graduate level. Course topics have included anxiety, suffering and disability, depression, grief, victimology, and more. CEU credits are also available. The courses are given in a weekend format (Friday night and all day Saturday).
Interested in an online counseling degree?
We are in the planning stages of a degree which would include on-line courses along with short intensive on-site courses.
Since we are nationally and regionally accredited 50% of a degree program must be delivered in a classroom. Your survey answers will help us to design the most useful program for you and others who cannot come to campus weekly.
