Computer Proficiency Self-test
The level of computer software used in courses offered at Biblical requires proficiency in several computer technology areas. Biblical Seminary currenly uses the Microsoft Office suite of programs and all files and information sent to faculty must be compatible with the current software version in use at Biblical. Please check the following operations in which you are proficient. "Proficient" means that you are able to do the following with ease and without assistance.
□ Writing and saving documents in Microsoft Word (or another word processor that can save documents in Word format)
□ Developing and saving PowerPoint presentations (or another presentation program that can save documents in PowerPoint
□ Working with Excel documents (basic operations)
□ Navigating the Internet using a web browser
□ Use of electronic mail services – sending and receiving
□ Viewing and downloading Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) files
□ Viewing and downloading media files, such as videos and mp3 files
□ Asking for help from a knowledgeable computer technician, friend, repair service, or other resource when experiencing computer problems or for needed updates.

MS Office 2007 Compatibility Pack
- Windows Users:
If you are using Office 2000, XP, or 2003, and have not already done so, please download and install the Microsoft compatibility pack for Office - it is the only way you will be able to open and work with documents created in the new 2007 format. Prior to installing this compatibility pack, you will want to run Microsoft Update to install any "high-priority" updates that you may be missing.The compatibility pack can be downloaded directly from Microsoft at:

- Mac Users:
If you are using Office 2004 or earlier and have not already done so, please download and install the Microsoft “Open XML Format Converter” - it is the only way you will be able to open and work with documents created in the new 2008 format for Mac ( 2007 format for Windows).
