Kristin Helms, PhD
M.Div., Duke Divinity School; Ph.D., Princeton Theological Seminary
Kristin has been working on numerous contributions to Encyclopedia of the Bible and its Reception publications and also serves as an Associate Pastor at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Thorofare, NJ. Her areas of expertise include Post-exilic texts, women in the Old and New Testaments, and the history of biblical interpretation within the Christian tradition.

Rick serves BTS as the Director of Academic Services and teaches courses centered around the Hebrew language in our MDiv language degree program and our Master of Theology degree program.
Carolyn Custis James
MA, Biblical Studies
Carolyn is a national and international conference speaker for churches, colleges, seminaries and other Christian organizations. Her writings bring a fresh perspective to the study of God's Word and communicate a powerfully relevant message for women and men today. She is president of WhitbyForum, a ministry dedicated to addressing the deeper needs that confront both women and men as they endeavor to extend God's kingdom together in a messy and complicated world.

Mike teaches Reading the Old Testament missionally, and several book studies at BTS. Beyond his interests in biblical hermeneutics and the Old Testament Prophetical books, he enjoys thinking about, and living out, the intersection of biblical theology and urban ministry.
Sherry Kull, PhD

Dr. Sherry Kull holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from Regent University and an MDiv from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. She serves full-time at Eastern University as Director of Faculty Development for Online Initiatives, where she teaches courses in Bible and Leadership. She has been teaching Greek at Biblical for more than twenty years and was one of the early promoters of online education at the seminary.

Shannon serves with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship in the US and abroad, training staff and students to explore and live in radical faith in Jesus. She is passionate about honest engagement with and creative application of God's word. At Biblical, Shannon has taught Reading the OT Missionally, Counseling and the Biblical Text, Lifelong Leadership Development, and co-taught "How God Teaches" with her OT Professor husband Dave.

Jeffrey is a Ph.D. Candidate at Westminster Theological Seminary where he also completed his MDiv with a Counseling emphasis (2006). He served as an Assistant Pastor at Calvary Chapel Westminster (England) from 1997-2000 and Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa from 2000-01. He currently teaches General Epistles Book Study (Hebrews) and Bible and Counseling 3 here at Biblical Seminary.
Steve Turnbull, PhD

Steve is committed to the beautiful, wonderful mess that is the church of Jesus Christ on earth. He is the senior pastor of First Lutheran Church in White Bear Lake, MN, and teaches adjunct classes in New Testament Theology. Steve has particular research interests in Christian anthropology and discipleship. Steve is married with two children and enjoys chess, travel, and sports of all kinds.
