Conference Description

Recent days, we can easily see 'mission-doing churches' around us. However, Ironically, most of those churches are 'only-mission-doing.' In other words, often they are becoming merely a separate religious group of people that isolate themselves from the world where they are called to reach out to lost souls to reconcile them to God. Furthermore, the modern churches do not even seek to understand emerging changes in trend and peoples' notion to effectively communicate the message of the gospel. Such phenomenon demonstrates that the church seems to exist only for its members rather than people outside of it who are in need of salvation. However, biblically, the true missional church is the one that our Triune God leads, and it endeavors to follow Jesus into the world. Unfortunately, the church has been ignoring its calling, but now is the time to realign and recalibrate its focus on "being missional" as God`s will for the church is to sincerely and diligently respond to its epochal and local vocations.

BTS KSF (Korean Student Fellowship) is inviting two pastors of Korean immigrant churches in the United States that are the epitome of the missional church. Our speakers will address theoretical and practical aspects of being the missional church with its application based on their studies and ministry experiences from the Korean-immigrant context in America. We hope that his conference will benefit not only the Korean immigrant churches but also the understanding the reality of other immigrant churches in the United States.

We are delighted to invite anyone who is interested in the missional church to this conference, including BTS professors, students, alumni, local church ministers. We will open two lectures with simultaneous interpretation between Korean and English languages. For those who register, there will be some souvenir, handbook and rice cake. Please make sure to register for smooth preparation.
