Dr. Mangum stepping down, Dr. Lamb taking on deanship

Dr. Mangum stepping down, Dr. Lamb taking on deanship

After nine years and having now led us through a very successful decennial accreditation cycle, Dr. Todd Mangum has asked to step out of the deanship to focus more on teaching and writing. He steps out of the deanship at a time when our accreditors have confirmed that the school is healthy and strong. Please join me in thanking Todd for his nine years of faithful and effective service overseeing the academic realm of our ministry.

I am very pleased also to announce that Dr. David Lamb has accepted my invitation to serve as the new Academic Dean. He comes into this position with enthusiasm and energy, and with more than ten years as professor of Old Testament on the BTS faculty. David also comes in with training in economics (and engineering) from Stanford University. BTS is blessed to have a person with such experience, aptitude, and training step into this mission-critical role.

David will officially begin in this new position at the start of the fiscal year, July 1. Both he and Todd have already begun working together to facilitate an expeditious and effective transition. Please join me in thanking and encouraging both these valuable colleagues.

Frank A. James III, DPhil, PhD
