Larry Anderson, DMin
BA, Cairn University; MDiv, BTS; DMin, BTS
Pastor Anderson is the pastor of Great Commission Church, previously a suburban church located in Roslyn PA but now situated in the West Oak Lane Community of Philadelphia to provide a holistic ministry to an urban setting. His personal life verse is: "To be a workman approved by God, who can correctly handle the Word of Truth" (2 Tim. 2:15).
Duane Belgrave, Jr.
With a Ph.D. in Religion from Emory University, Duane teaches several classes here at BTS. In addition he is the Co-Founder and Associate Director of Black Religious Scholars Group and serves governmental agencies in the Philadelphia area in community development projects.
Dr. Coz Crosscombe is an Australian who seems to have gotten lost in Philadelphia for the past twenty or so years. He is the Director of Cairn University's First Year Urban Ministry Program and teaches at BTS and The Center for Urban Theological Studies. In his spare time he co-directs Common Grace Inc., a ministry focused on developing strategic church partnerships that lead to lasting neighborhood transformation.
Susan Disston, DMin

Dr. Susan Disston serves as Director of Institutional Assessment and Hybrid Learning and as Adjunct Faculty in the DMin program at Biblical Seminary. She provides educational consulting through Engaging Learners, LLC and serves on the editorial staff of New Urban World: Journal of Urban Missions.
Carl F. Ellis, Jr., DPhil
BA, Hampton Institute; MAR, Westminster; DPhil, Oxford Grad School
In 1969, Carl Ellis began his ministry as a Senior Campus Minister, and as a seminar instructor for Prison Fellowship where he developed and taught “in-prison” and “in-community” seminars for inmates and community volunteers. Dr. Ellis and his wife Karen have the privilege and pleasure of working as a team, traveling and teaching together worldwide. They hope to grow gracefully into ageless adventurers, leaving behind them a legacy of education that brings glory and honor to God.

Drew specializes in Theology and Ethics and Scriptural Theology. He has also studied Black Theology, Anabaptism, the New Testament and has successfully completed the LTSP PhD Teaching Seminar.
Stephanie Lowery is a graduate of Biblical, and grew up in East Africa. She is currently pursuing a PhD in systematic theology from Wheaton College Graduate School. Her dissertation evaluates ecclesiological models in African theologies.
Dave Marks, DMin
BRE, Baptist Bible College; MOL, Cairn University; DMin, BTS
Dave is a lead consultant with The Center, whose mission is to advance organizational health. His 35 years of pastoral ministry enables him to serve well a variety of faith-based organizations throughout the United States and Canada. He brings practical theology to life in the classroom using sound biblical principles and tested organizational theory. Dave believes using case studies, purposeful discussions, and hands-on projects will help students experience the benefits of leading wisely.
Paul L. Metzger, PhD
MDiv, MA Trinity Evangelical Divinity School; PhD King’s College London
Paul serves as the Professor of Christian Theology, Theology of Culture and is the Founder and Director of The Institute for the Theology of Culture at Multnomah Biblical Seminary. He has also written several books and teaches in our DMin program.
Currently Kenyatta (BTS MDiv graduate in 2011) serves as the Dean of Students and Athletic Director at Spruce Hill Christina School and City Center Academy in Philadelphia. In addition, he is the Missions Coordinator for Pan African Christian Exchange and serves as the Assistant Chaplin at the State Correctional Institution in Chester, PA.
Malcolm Walls, DMin

Pastor Malcolm is the Pastor of Calvary Gospel Chapel located in West Philadelphia. He specializes and has a heart for understanding culture and using cultural knowledge to aid in the discipling of God’s people holistically for the redemption of the world.
